NEWSLETTER NO.8

Autumn is now upon us now, and as just as we have a change of seasons with the mild weather giving way to cooler weather, we too are planning our events going forward. Throughout the summer months we have been busy out in the community attending events and holding our own pop-up events and we have finally finished the set up of our office at 40 North Hill in Colchester, which now has all of its signage.

Whilst we continue to run our weekly sight centre in Colchester Library, we do have a video magnifier set up for people to use in North Hill and one in Frinton Library. All our community video magnifiers are free for use.

We have started a coffee/tea social in Halstead which runs alongside our regular sight centre every fourth Thursday of the month so come along for a cuppa and a chat.

Frinton Library (59 Old Road, Frinton-on-Sea) are now hosting a coffee morning for VIP focused on support and friendship. Contact the library on 0345 603 7628 for more details.

One of our long-standing volunteers, Sheila Townsend has petitioned the government to stop the floating bus stops on East Hill in Colchester as the design puts VI pedestrians in conflict with cyclists as the cycle path comes behind the bus shelters and she is terrified she will be knocked over. She has an online petition to gather support
